Manas K. Mandal, Ph.D., FNAPsy – A pioneering psychologist and behavioral neuroscientist, Prof. Mandal is currently a Distinguished Visiting Professor at IIT Kharagpur. Formerly the Director General of Life Sciences, DRDO, he has held eminent positions in India and abroad, including Harvard University and Kyushu University.
His work spans behavioral neuroscience, cognitive science, and defense psychology. Recipient of numerous national awards – including the Scientist of the Year and Technology Leadership Award presented by the Prime Minister of India – his contributions have shaped both academia and defense research.
