The Institute of Applied Statistics is proud to introduce the Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed Dental R&D Scheme in honor of Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed (1890–1965), widely recognized as the Father of Modern Dentistry in India. A visionary educationist and practitioner, Dr. Ahmed established India’s first dental college in 1920 and laid the foundation for organized dental education and research in the country. 

This scheme acknowledges his pioneering contributions by fostering research skills, statistical knowledge, and evidence-based practices among dental professionals, students, and academicians.

The vision of this scheme is to strengthen dental research and academic excellence by equipping dental professionals with modern tools of statistics, data analysis, and research methodology.

By conducting training programmes, workshops, and certificate courses across dental colleges in India, the initiative nurtures critical thinking, analytical ability, and research-driven practice. All activities are conducted in a subsidized format, ensuring accessibility while reinvesting proceeds for the scheme’s growth and sustainability.
