The Institute of Applied Statistics proudly launched the Florence Nightingale Nursing R&D Scheme in honor of Florence Nightingale (1820–1910), widely revered as the Founder of Modern Nursing. Beyond her pioneering role in nursing care, Nightingale was a visionary statistician who revolutionized healthcare by applying statistical analysis and evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes. 

This scheme recognizes her extraordinary legacy by strengthening research methodology and statistical capacity among nursing professionals and academicians across India.
