The Maharshi Charak Ayurveda R&D Scheme has been established to strengthen the statistical and research capabilities of Ayurveda professionals, scholars, and academicians. By conducting a wide range of educational training programmes, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives across Ayurveda colleges nationwide, the scheme encourages systematic, evidence-based, and deterministic thinking in the field of traditional medicine. 

Vision of the Maharshi Charak Ayurveda R&D Scheme:

The vision of this initiative is to inculcate a strong research aptitude among Ayurveda students and faculty members. Launched in honor of Maharshi Charaka—revered as the Father of Ayurveda—the scheme acknowledges his enduring contributions to holistic medicine.

Maharshi Charaka (c. 100 BCE – 200 CE) is celebrated as one of the principal architects of Ayurveda and the compiler of the Charaka Samhita, a foundational text of classical Indian medicine. Recognized as part of the Brihat-Trayee (the Great Trio of Ayurveda), his treatise remains a cornerstone of Ayurvedic knowledge and philosophy.

Inspired by this legacy, the scheme extends modern research principles and statistical applications to Ayurveda, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and scientific rigor in traditional healthcare.
