Institute of Applied Statistics launched a scheme in the honor of Dr. Padam Singh, Chief Statistical Advisor, Government of India. The contributions of Dr. Padam Singh to the discipline of statistics and research are multifarious, profound and long-lasting. He contributed both to the mathematical theory of statistics &its applications, especially in the field of Medical Statistics, Demography and the design of experiments therein. He provided a unified and general theory for analysis of data and laid the logical foundations for inductive inference. Since he is always involved in solving biological problems which needed statistical methods, he himself developed a large body of methods.
The Scheme is to enhance the knowledge of statistics and research activities among medical, nursing, paramedical professionals & academicians. The scheme is to develop and apply the deterministic thinking effectively by conducting various educational training programs, workshops at different colleges all over the country. This is a non-profit scheme for the development of statistical and research thinking among academicians. Therefore, the program will be conducted in a subsidized manner, proceeds from which will be utilized in the development of scheme.
The main goal of the scheme is to provide quality education through experienced and renowned national faculties from different prestigious organizations at minimal cost. Furthermore, the scheme is aimed to spread statistical knowledge to each and every organization across the country.
